Why ISWA is here:

Lebanon suffered from many bitter years of war and serious events. As a result, the human being has been crushed from inside and distorted pictures of tragedies have been created and left with so many bleeding and crying wounds calling every zealous conscience and heart. Moreover, devastation and destruction that were left behind by the Israeli invasion to Lebanon in the year 1982, made most Muslims rise to defend their country, land, honour, ideologies and beliefs. Numbers of martyrs increased everyday. Many families were left dispersed and broken up, many handicapped and disabled young people, many orphans and many numbers of deformed and injured cases, the fact which made all the benevolent, pious, charitable, humanitarian, watchful and honest groups to call each other and get together to play an organized role for the relief and help of these forgotten human beings. Thus, the establishment of an Islamic home of philanthropic and charitable endowment open for everyone was announced in 1985 with the title “Islamic Welfare Association – ISWA”.


ISWA Objectives:

General Objective: Care of Muslims’ social issues and affairs.
Purposes: Since it was established, the ISWA set about to work for the fulfillment of its goals and the mission for which it was founded through itsprogrammes.

- Saida City and the surroundings: 104,000 people
-Villages of Southern Lebanon and the Palestinian Refugee camps in Tyr: 310,000 people
- Villages and towns of Iqlim Al-Kharroub: 45,000
- The total number of beneficiaries is: 459,000 people


Whom ISWA works with:

Activities and actions of the ISWA are directed to the following targeted people:

- Orphans including their mothers as well as the brothers and sisters of the sponsored orphans.
- Widows.
- Needy people (Special Social Cases).
- Handicapped and disabled of war and general different accidents.
- Needy students.
